Merle was born on May 4, 1935 and passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017.

Merle was a resident of Owego, New York at the time of passing.

He was a graduate of Owego High School, served in the US Army in Korea and was a retired employee of IBM, Owego.

His family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Saturday from 11 am until the time of his Funeral Service at 1 pm. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley where full military honors will be accorded.

I am sadden to hear of the passing of Merle, I have many fond memories him when we were working In maintenance at IBM/Lockheed.

To Lilly and family, Merle was a great person that gave his time to serve the community and others. I had many conversations over the years at the station, and at work. Enjoyed his thoughts and strength. Thank you for your service Merle. May all in the family remember the best of times.

This is a sad time, Merle was a strong member of the OFD, I had many a good talk over the years with him. I frequently saw him at work till he retired and moved on. To Lilly, may you always remember the best of times. Thank you for your service, Merle.

Lilly, Sue and family, Judy and I were sad to learn of Merle's passing. We remember him as being very friendly, kind and loved having a good time. He was very devoted to his family. We will keep you in thought and prayers during this difficult time.
