DeEtta Lalley age 107, of Hillcrest, NY died at St Louise Manor on Monday Dec 4th, just 30 days short of her 108th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years Ernest J. Lalley. Mrs. Lalley was born in Killawog, NY where she lived with her parents and 2 brothers. She is survived by her 5 children; Eileen Purcell (Joseph ) Albany, NY; Joseph Lalley McMinnville, Oregon; Betty Pozsgay Seaford, DE; Robert Lalley ( Lauren ) Brewerton, NY and Charles Lalley (Patricia ) Port Crane, NY. She is also survived by 17 loving and caring grandchildren and 42 precious great grandchildren. DeEtta was the family matriarch and was proud of all her family and their many successes . It was important for her to keep in touch with frequent letters and cards to her family and many friends throughout her life. Mrs Lalley was employed in the Binghamton School System for over 20 years as a school nurse and was a member of (St Catherines)/St Francis of Assisi Church in Hillcrest. She loved the time spent at the family cottage on Bradley Brook Lake near Hamilton, NY. Coming out on the deck every morning to just spend time looking at the serenity and beauty that the lake provided. She spent many hours challenging anyone interested in a game of dominoes, where she dominated for years. She always said the reason for her longevity was due to her husband, family and faith. DeEtta wants to thank all of the staff of St Louise Manor for the wonderful care and attention she received during her 17 years as a resident. They all spoke deeply of their friendship for her.
